Before coming to Beasley Allen, J.P. was involved in a broad range of civil litigation, representing wronged and injured individuals. J.P.’s litigation focus is currently in the area of product liability actions. He has become primarily involved in cases involving defective roof structures in automobiles.
J.P. is a frequent speaker at litigation seminars. He has authored several papers relating to litigation, and he has been called upon to speak at national seminars.
J.P. is actively involved in both the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. He serves on the Executive and Legislative Committees of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. J.P. is also a “lifetime member” of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association.
J.P. is married to Keely Warren Sawyer of Enterprise, Alabama. He has two daughters, Kalyn and Ella, and twin sons, Brack and Lint. Both he and his wife are members of St. James United Methodist Church. J.P. enjoys foreign mission work. He most recently traveled to Ecuador and Cuba to participate in missionary work through the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission program.
