Lesaffre Yeast Class Action

Our firm is pursuing a class action lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama against Lesaffre Yeast Corporation. Lesaffre manufactures yeast for traditional baking, wine making, malting, and the agricultural and pharmaceutical industries in Headland, Alabama. The civil lawsuit alleges that the yeast production process, as well as the land application of wastewater, can cause the release of odorous compounds. As a result, offensive odors envelop the surrounding community.

Regularly, the odor reaches such a degree that neighboring landowners must shut their windows and remain inside to obtain relief. The foul odor has resulted in the diminution in value of class members' properties.
