An Alabama couple have sued Boca Raon, Florida-based Rexall Sundown, Inc. and Rexall’s subsidiary, Richardson Labs, the manufacturers and sellers of the dietary supplement Metab-O-Lite, alleging negligence, manufacturing defects and fraud. Plaintifs Mary E. McAdams and her husband, Everett W. McAdams, Jr., allege that she took Metab-O-Lite for three weeks before she collapsed and suffered “a resuscitated sudden death episode” that required her to be intubated and dedefibrilated on the way to the hospital. The Plaintiffs claim that due to Metab-O-Lite’s foreseeable dangerous side effects, it was sold in an “unreasonably dangerous condition.” McAdams v.
