About Warner
Warner joined Beasley Allen in 2016. He handles cases involving serious injury and death related to automobile accidents, dangerous machinery, defective products and negligence.
Warner is driven by a passion for helping those people who are disadvantaged by the system and being taken advantage of. He has been recognized on the Midsouth Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list every year since 2019. This prestigious accolade highlights the top up-and-coming attorneys who are either 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
With a reputation for securing significant verdicts and settlements for his clients, Warner recalls his most memorable case, Jose Garcia v. Southern Clearing & Grinding, Inc. His client, a truck driver from Puerto Rico, worked as an independent contractor and lacked health insurance. Due to erratic doctor visits and a missed diagnosis of a labral tear in his hip, his treatment was severely affected. Despite being in constant pain it took three years to identify the tear. The defendant fiercely contested the case, but after a lot of hard work, Warner was able to prove how serious Mr. Garcia’s injury was. A conservative venue in Georgia returned a $2.5 Million verdict. Warner’s recent victories also include securing $4 million for a client disabled by a negligent truck driver and over $4 million for a pedestrian injured at an auto auction lot. His advice to fellow attorneys is simple yet profound: always believe your client. Find a way to demonstrate their truthfulness and convince the jury to believe in you and your client.
Warner is an active member of the Alabama State Bar, serving on its Executive Committee and participating in the Young Lawyers Section. He was also recently selected to the Class 19 Leadership Forum. Additionally, he is involved with the Montgomery County Bar Association, specifically within its Young Lawyers Section.
Warner says that in many ways, he always knew he would become a lawyer, following in the footsteps of his father, Clay Hornsby, and his grandfather, Sonny Hornsby. He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery in Cloverdale. In college, Warner played soccer and continues to follow the English Premier League, with Arsenal being his favorite team. He is also an enthusiastic supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide! In his free time, he enjoys deer hunting and spending time at his family’s cabin on Lake Martin.
Education
Warner graduated from the University of the South: Sewanee in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with minors in Business and French. As a Carey Fellow, he participated in Sewanee’s pre-business honors program.
He then attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 2016. During his time there, he was an active member of the Order of the Barristers, Bench and Bar, and the Trial Advocacy Competition Team. Notably, he received the “Elite Advocate” award at a national competition, and his team secured third place in the country, including a victory over the eventual national champions.
