Alyssa Baskam, Atlanta Personal Injury Lawyer

About Alyssa

Alyssa Baskam joined Beasley Allen’s Atlanta office in 2019. She focuses on cases involving defective products, particularly automobiles and workplace machinery, and other cases involving catastrophic injury or wrongful death.

She feels privileged to help improve the lives of our clients and ensure that the worst day of their lives does not become their entire story. Alyssa has been recognized on the Super Lawyers Rising Stars (Georgia) list every year since 2019. She has been featured by Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers Women in the Law since 2022 for her achievements in Personal Injury and Product Liability Litigation. Additionally, Forbes named her one of the top ten best personal injury attorneys in Atlanta for 2023 and 2024.

Alyssa has a strong track record in representing individuals and families in their efforts to hold automakers accountable for unsafe and negligent vehicle designs. She has secured over $500 million in verdicts and settlements. One of her notable cases involves a rear crashworthiness case against Toyota that arose from the death of a young boy, Miles. She was able to give voice to what Miles lost and what his life would have been. Her efforts not only brought justice to Miles’ family but also revealed a defect that is present in millions of sedans across the country. Another notable case involved a tragic van rollover that resulted in the death or injury of 16 women. With numerous defendants and various theories of liability, it was one of the most complex and challenging cases she had ever encountered. The time spent strategizing paid off, and the case ultimately resolved for the most money per death of any case she has worked on.

She is a Champion Member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA), where she serves on the executive committee. Alyssa actively participates in the GTLA Women’s Caucus, contributes to Verdict Magazine, and authors amicus briefs on behalf of GTLA. An alumna of GTLA’s prestigious LEAD program, Alyssa is recognized as a leader in her field. Additionally, she is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). She is a member of several AAJ committees and is an AAJ Board of Governors delegate for the state of Georgia.

Alyssa grew up in Cumming, Georgia, where she attended South Forsyth High School. She now lives in Atlanta, where she enjoys playing tennis, cooking, and painting. She is also an avid hiker with a passion for conservation and the outdoors. Additionally, Alyssa enjoys giving back to the community. She serves as a board member of drawchange and volunteers for the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Shepherd Center.

Education

Alyssa graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. She was recognized as a public service scholar and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. During her college years, Alyssa volunteered at a crisis hotline, which inspired her to become a lawyer so she could provide direct assistance to those in need.

She went on to earn her law degree from Emory Law School, graduating with honors in 2014. While in law school, Alyssa was involved in the Emory Moot Court Society and the Emory Public Interest Committee. She also competed nationally in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. After law school, she had the pleasure and privilege of serving as an interim clerk for Judge Steve Jones in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
