About Gavin
Gavin King began working as a law clerk at Beasley Allen in 2019 before rejoining the firm as an attorney in 2020. He currently represents a variety of plaintiffs, primarily in environmental litigation.
Gavin has been honored as a member of the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 every year since 2022. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Midsouth Super Lawyers “Rising Star” annually since 2022. In 2025, Gavin was also featured in the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for his exceptional work in environmental litigation.
Recently, Gavin was part of a legal team retained by the Alabama Attorney General’s Office that secured over $728 million in settlements from healthcare and drug companies responsible for the opioid epidemic. In 2021, Gavin served as lead trial counsel for the family of a Wilcox County man who tragically died due to the negligence of Camden Nursing Facility.
Gavin is a distinguished member of the Alabama State Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, and the North Carolina State Bar. He was selected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers’ Section. Additionally, Gavin is an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors. He also represents the Middle District for the Alabama Lawyers’ Association and is a dedicated member of the Alabama Association for Justice. Within this association, he is part of the Emerging Leaders and is a proud graduate of the inaugural ELITE Leadership Academy class.
Gavin is a native of Opelika, Alabama, and married to the former Erica Williams of Birmingham. They have two daughters and now reside in Montgomery, where they are active members of Hutchinson Missionary Baptist Church. In his free time, Gavin enjoys following Mississippi State athletics and hunting with his bird dog, Judge.
Education
The Mississippi State University graduate studied music, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2017. During college, Gavin was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and elected by the student body to serve as Attorney General.
After completing his undergraduate education, Gavin attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he was a member of the National Trial Team, Christian Legal Society, and the Black Law Students Association.
