About Jessica
Jessica “Jessi” Haynes is a lawyer in the firm’s Consumer Fraud Section, where she serves on the team bringing qui tam litigation cases under the False Claims Act and employment law cases. Jessi has also fielded case investigations from individuals and referring attorneys. Through her investigations, Jessi has had the privilege of researching nuanced pieces of law and learning about various aspects of business and employment practices in Alabama and throughout the United States.
During law school, Jessi began working for the firm as a law clerk in the Consumer Fraud Section. In addition to her work with Beasley Allen, Jessi has a unique experience with Medicaid, including time spent working for a state agency writing policies and procedures for Long Term Care Services and Support.
Background
Jessi lives in Lillian, Alabama, with her husband, Bobby, their daughter, Maddie Kate, and their two cats. She enjoys reading historical fiction and non-fiction books and listening to true crime podcasts. She and her family cheer vigorously for the Auburn Tigers.
Notable Cases
Jessi was part of the trial team that secured a jury verdict for $1,438,467.74 in damages under the False Claims Act (FCA) against the Birmingham–Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA). Whistleblowers alleged that the BJCTA knew it was making false claims to federal transportation officials. U.S. District Judge Corey L. Maze later tripled the damages based on an FCA provision and assessed civil penalties against the BJCTA, totaling $308,000. Judge Maze’s March 2023 order resulted in a final damage award of $4,623,403.22.
Education
Jessi graduated from Troy University, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice while minoring in leadership studies. She earned her law degree from Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. During law school, Jessi was Vice President of the Student Bar Association and a Dean Fellow.

Jessi is a member of the Alabama State Bar and Tennessee State Bar. She is also a member of the Mobile Bar Association and its Women Lawyers Section.
Community Involvement
Jessi serves on the Board of Directors for the Dream Center of Baldwin County, where she, along with members of the community, law enforcement, clergy, and counselors, works to provide services and resources to provide youth in Baldwin County to help overcome socioeconomic barriers while providing counseling, mentoring, education, and support.
