About Lauren
Lauren has clerked for multiple plaintiff’s firms beginning with Beasley Allen in the summer of 2014 as a clerk in the Consumer Fraud Section. Lauren returned to Beasley Allen’s Consumer Fraud Section in May 2018 and is working on class action litigation involving consumer fraud in the health care industry, as well as qui tam litigation under the False Claims Act.
Prior to Lauren’s return to Beasley Allen, she worked full time as an attorney in the Birmingham, Alabama area, practicing contract, fraud, and employment law.
Background
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Lauren splits her time between her hometown and her adopted city of Homewood, Alabama. She is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Notable Cases
Lauren was part of the team that worked with the Kentucky Attorney General’s office, helping secure a $10.3 million settlement in its case against Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc., a Massachusetts-based dialysis company, for Medicaid fraud.
Professional Associations
A member of the Alabama State Bar, Lauren is active in the Young Lawyers and Women’s sections. She is also a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association, Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Legal Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. In 2023, Lauren was selected to serve on Cumberland School of Law’s Advisory Board.
Education
In 2012, Lauren graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.A. in Political Science. While at Birmingham-Southern, Lauren was selected to multiple national academic honor organizations, was a dean’s list student, and was an active member in the Greek communities, as well as student organizations including the EnACT Club and student art league. She also interned in the U.S. Senate for Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Richard Shelby.
Lauren continued her education at Cumberland School of Law, graduating and passing the Alabama Bar Exam in 2015. While in law school, Lauren was as a member of the Cumberland Women in Law organization, Cumberland Environmental Law Society, and participant in Cumberland’s various community outreach programs while repeatedly receiving Dean’s List recognition.
Community Involvement
Lauren supports Kings Home and the Wellhouse Birmingham. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Catholic Social Services and is an active BSC alumna and advisor to her sorority chapter.
