About Lauren

Lauren Miles started her journey at Beasley Allen as a law clerk before being promoted to attorney in 2018. She focuses on cases involving class action litigation, consumer fraud in the healthcare industry and qui tam litigation under the False Claims Act.

Lauren is deeply passionate about consumer fraud and litigation, focusing on protecting everyday people from unethical business practices. She finds this work uniquely empowering, as it holds businesses accountable regardless of size or industry. One of her most memorable cases involved a retired school bus driver from rural Alabama who lost his life savings due to fraudulent transfers by a trusted fiduciary. Witnessing the devastation and then successfully recovering his savings reinforced the importance of their mission. Another one of her notable cases includes securing a $10.3 million settlement against Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. for Medicaid fraud in collaboration with the Kentucky Attorney General’s office.

She is an active member of the Alabama State Bar, participating in both the Young Lawyers and Women’s sections. Her professional affiliations include the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Legal Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. In 2023, she was honored with an appointment to the Advisory Board of Cumberland School of Law.

Originally from Montgomery, Lauren now divides her time between her hometown and Homewood, Alabama. She is an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Montgomery. In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling and immersing herself in different cultures, believing these experiences offer unique opportunities for gaining perspective, fostering empathy, and promoting personal growth. She is also a dedicated supporter of Kings Home and the Wellhouse Birmingham.

Education

Lauren graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2012 with a degree in Political Science, earning multiple honors and actively participating in student organizations and Greek life. She also gained valuable experience interning for U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Shelby.

Lauren furthered her education at Cumberland School of Law, graduating in 2015 and passing the Alabama Bar Exam. During law school, she was involved in various organizations and community outreach programs, consistently making the Dean’s List.
