About Preston
Preston joined Beasley Allen’s Atlanta Office in 2022. He focuses on cases involving serious injuries and defective products.
Before joining Beasley Allen, Preston worked at another Atlanta law firm, handling complex litigation, white-collar investigations, and commercial disputes. His experience includes defending antitrust class actions, investigating public corruption, and resolving contract disputes. He also represented a credit reporting agency in Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) matters.
Preston is passionate about advocating for those who need it most. He has helped survivors of sex trafficking seek post-conviction relief under Georgia’s Survivors First Act and represented a wrongfully exiled U.S. green card holder in a case against federal agencies. Additionally, he has advised an Atlanta nonprofit on internal governance.
Some of Preston’s notable cases include a $7 Million Verdict Against Ford Motor Co. in a negligence case involving a defectively designed 2014 Ford Mustang, a $2.5 Million Verdict Against a DOT Contractor that dropped a tree onto his client’s truck cab, with an additional $10,000 in punitive damages, and a $715,000 verdict that remains a soft-tissue record verdict in Atlanta’s federal courthouse. Still, Preston’s best day as an attorney is when he can deliver justice – not a discounted settlement, but true justice – without his client ever having to see the inside of a courtroom.
Preston is a member of the Georgia State Bar and is Head Coach of the mock trial team at his high school alma mater, Mount Paran Christian School. Out of 180+ teams in Georgia, the program is one of the top 15 in the state.
Preston’s faith is central to his life. He strives to live in the image of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with the support of his wife, father, mother, and grandparents. Preston and his wife Mary Lauren have two boys, Brooks and Tripp. The couple met in high school and married shortly after Preston graduated from law school. They are active members of North Metro Church in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Education
Preston earned his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, where he had a distinguished mock trial career. He was a captain of the Harvard Law School Mock Trial Association, and during his time there, he won a national invitational tournament called the St. Mary’s Classic. Preston also won several individual awards that recognized him as the “Best Attorney” in various competitive respects.
Preston received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University where he graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. in Philosophy. While at Georgetown, Preston was a captain and A-Team competitor on the University’s Mock Trial Team, where he received multiple trial advocacy awards.
