About Wesley
Wesley Merillat joined Beasley Allen in 2024. He currently focuses on the Camp Lejeune and Paraquat litigation.
Wesley’s journey into law began with a deep-rooted sense of fairness. Growing up, he always found himself standing up for others, confronting injustice, and determined to make a difference. He brings extensive experience in toxic torts, medical devices, and pharmaceutical mass torts, coupled with a strong passion for pro bono work. He has held leadership roles in coordinated litigations and spent the last decade at Charles Boyk Law, handling mass tort multi-district litigation. Wesley also developed the firm’s civil sex assault litigation practice, representing victims and survivors of sex abuse.
Every case and every client is naturally and intentionally personal to Wesley. Some of his standout cases include the East Palestine Train Derailment, where he served on the Plaintiff Steering Committee. In a case against Small Smiles, a pediatric dental chain accused of performing unnecessary procedures, he helped negotiate a settlement of over $40 million to support the affected children. Additionally, he has represented numerous sexual assault victims, securing settlements and judgments exceeding $30 million.
He is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, such as the Ohio State Bar, Michigan State Bar, Washtenaw County Bar Association, Fulton County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. Additionally, he has been a dedicated member of the Toledo Bar Association, where he served on the Bar Admissions Committee for over a decade.
Wesley, a first-generation college graduate, grew up on a farm in rural Ohio, where he learned the values of faith, family, and hard work. He and his wife, Steffenie, have three children—Evan, Avah, and Casen—and a Belgian cattle dog, Rocco. The family attends Keystone Church in Saline, Michigan. In his free time, Wesley enjoys playing basketball, cheering for the Michigan Wolverines, salmon and saltwater fishing, and watching his kids play sports. He also volunteers as a youth basketball coach at a local community center.
